AppGrid: Pivot View
Powerful analytics features deliver operational intelligence
The AppGrid Pivot view allows business users to dynamically group, aggregate and pivot their data to easily see comparisons, patterns, and trends in their operational data. Instead of purchasing costly enterprise analytics software, the AppGrid Pivot view offers similar capabilities without the complexity of typical analytics software. No complex data cubes to configure or scheduling reports to see your analytics!
In the image below, we have grouped on the Account Industry and Ownership fields. We set the pivot column to AccountType, and aggregated the AnnualRevenue and AnnualProfit fields. We pinned and sorted the group fields so we can easily scroll the view to see all of the pivoted values. Wish to see your pivot view as a chart? No problem, right-click on the data and select pivot chart! Using our advanced filter wizard, create and apply filters to your pivot data.
We created the view using our easy to use column wizard. Save your preferences as a new view and access your analytics views from the view selector. Create as many views as you need!
Let's take a tour of the PivotView features and provide a detailed understanding of how to use the app.

Defing the pivot view
Click on the Create Template toolbar button to create a new pivot view. A dialog will open requesting the name of the new view to be created. Let's create a new to see AnnualRevenue and AnnualProfit by Industry and AccountType. After entering the name, click the column manager button in the toolbar to edit the new view.
The column manager will be displayed. Click the pivot button. Notice that the column manager now displays a section to define the pivot columns.

Select the columns that we want to display by checking the box next to each column field. Drag the Industry field into the row groups section. In this example, we will aggregate the AnnualProfit and AnnualRevenue fields. Drag these fields into the values section. Drag the AccountType field into the pivot columns section. The grid automatically updates after making each change in the column manager.

Close the column manager.

The new pivot view has been created. Whenever we need this view, simply select it from the toolbar view selector. Tip: we could enhance this view by defining one or more column filters or for more control, create an advanced multi-column filter. Filter settings are saved as part of the view.
